#SanMarinoGP - Race | Kasma finishes twentieth; Gardner misses the San Marino Grand Prix

Kasma finishes twentieth; Gardner misses the San Marino Grand Prix

The Malaysian rider has finished the weekend progressing and with confidence with his kalex. Kasma has crossed the finish line in twentieth position. Remy Gardner has been declared unfit to race after suffering a crash at the warm up and fracturing his left hand and foot.

Remy Gardner hasn’t been able to participate in the seventh race of the season after suffering a crash at turn 11 during the warm up that has taken place this morning. The ONEXOX TKKR SAG TEAM rider has walked back to the team garage but the medical checks have shown a fracture on the metacarpus of the left hand and another one on the metatarsus of the left foot being declared unfit to race by the MotoGP medical team. Gardner is going back to Barcelona today and will have a medical check tomorrow morning to contemplate if an operation is needed.
Kasma Daniel continues focused in gaining experience riding his Kalex and understanding the Moto2 category. A small mistake has made him lose some positions on the first lap. Little by little, Kasma has concentrated in recovering the rhythm lap after lap finishing the race in twentieth position.
The next race will take place in the same track of Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the next Sunday 20th of September.

Today hasn’t been the day we expected it would be. We have been progressing all weekend. This morning, I have had a big crash during the warm up. At turn 11, the bike has suddenly thrown me on a high side and I have flown over the handlebars. I am struggling to understand what happened. I have broken a finger and a toe although it could have been a lot worse. I am visiting the doctor tomorrow to check if an operation is needed and to try and come back next week to continue fighting for what we deserve. I would like to thank my team for their support.

I would like to thank my team for making me feel more comfortable riding the Kalex. It has been a good weekend from beginning to end. We have seen today that our lap time was not too far from the front group so we could get a good result but unfortunately, I made a mistake on the first lap losing some positions. Then, I have focused on making consistent laps. It has been a tough race! I hope we can continue improving next weekend.
