Gardner gets into the points; Nagashima says goodbye to the ONEXOX TKKR SAG TEAM

The ONEXOX TKKR SAG TEAM finishes the 2019 season with a very complicated race that has been reduced to 16 laps. Remy Gardner has finished fifteenth while Tetsuta Nagashima has crossed the finish line in twenty first position.

Remy Gardner, who started from the fourteenth position of the grid, has suffered problems during all weekend that have not allowed him to find a good set up to be able to feel comfortable with his Kalex in Valencia. Nevertheless, the Australian has managed to cross the finish line finishing inside the points with a fifteenth position. Gardner finishes the season with 77 points which place him in the fifteenth position of the Moto2 general standings.

Tetsuta Nagashima started the weekend with good feelings that he lost on Saturday. The Japanese couldn’t complete a good qualifying session so he didn’t get a good position on the grid that would allow him to provide a good performance for the team. Nagashima has finished the season in fourteenth position in Moto2 with 78 points.

The ONEXOX TKKR SAG TEAM is already thinking on the 2020 season and would like to thank all its sponsors for the support received.

#87 Remy Gardner | P14 | 1'34.946

It has been a tough weekend, it all started bad from Friday and unfortunately, we didn’t get a good setting and we ended up having a bad qualifying, I was really struggling with the acceleration and I couldn’t move forward in the race. Not a good way to finish the season but we have to be happy with the speed we had this year and I am looking forward to start the next season.

#45 Tetsuta Nagashima | P21 | 1'35.062

I am disappointed with today’s result, Friday was ok, I had a good feeling with the bike but that changed on Saturday and we didn’t manage to get a good position on the grid. Because the race was shorter I didn’t have the opportunity to overtake more riders and get a better position. I would like to thank the team for the hard work they have done this year. I am very happy to have worked with them and I wish them all the best.

Eduardo Perles - Team Principal

Remy Gardner started the season with very good results, unfortunately, after his big crash in Jerez, his chief mechanic did not manage to achieve the setting Remy was asking for and that is why we decided to take Lluis Lleonart as his new chief mechanic for next season. Lluis has a lot of experience and we think this would be a very valuable addition to Remy’s team. On another hand, the crashes suffered during the season haven’t allowed us to get as many points as we were hoping for but it is a process all the riders need to go through before starting getting good results in Moto2.

In the other side of the garage Tetsuta Nagashima arrived to the team with an 8th position as his best result before joining the team. We gave him all our support and trust as he had already been with us in 2017. We believed in him and he has showed us we were right. The results started arriving after the Summer break which made other teams get interested in him. A team has made him an offer with a very good financial incentive that he could not refuse. We decided to let him go and break his contract and we are going to work with a young talent for the next 3 years. We wish Tetsu the best for his new adventure.
